Design Inspiration.

We always look to photography and various blogs to be inspired. Its a great place to view ideas and speak to like minded people.

The idea of styling a room with items that are shabby chic is now extremely popular and a typical style you are likely to see is Laura Ashley or other high street stores.

I wouldn't say my style is shabby chic but a mixture of all styles grouped together. (basically I don't know what i like ha ha) I guess I am eclectic? mixing together pieces from all different era's and countries.

Here are a few of my pins from my board on Pinterest which will help understand the love I have of all things old, reused, recycled and most of all reloved.

My Dream Kitchen

I think this is the kitchen from Sophie Dahls cooking programme. It keeps getting ever so slight changes.

I really want a work bench that has been transformed into a central Island.

A Visit to Wiltshire

I was lucky enough to be treated to a trip away in Wiltshire a couple of weeks ago for my Birthday.

I must show you what we got up to and the photographs of the 'Old Stables' at Crockerton House B&B where we stayed, it was amazing!

The cottages are so pretty, its like a chocolate box town. Unspoilt.

The men in my life! Guy and our dog Hugo.

Lacock

We had been told about Lacock by a friend at RawXclusive. Its always good to be recommended places by friends as you know it must be nice if they have been.

Lacock is a village in Wiltshire, England, 3 miles (5 km) from the town of Chippenham. The village is owned almost in its entirety by the National Trust, and attracts many visitors by virtue of its unspoiled appearance.

The village has also been used as a film and television set, notably for the 1995 BBC production of Pride and Prejudice, the 2007 BBC production of Cranford. It has also made brief appearances in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Crockerton House is a luxury B&B in Crockerton. We stayed in the newly developed self catering holiday cottage, which has been beautifully converted. It is secluded in a lovely rural location with wonderful views of the Wylye Valley. The Old Stables are a perfect hideaway for couples looking to leave behind the stress of their daily lives and unwind in peaceful and luxurious surroundings.

A walk in the woods

We as always can never relax and wanted to do as much as possible. We were in a really good spot central to everywhere we wanted to go.
Below are a few shots of some of the places we stopped off at along the way.

Gold Hill in Shaftsbury featured in the Hovis Advert.

I'll just rest on this railing a minute!

Guy doesn't look very happy to be climbing this hill.

Shaftsbury was a beautiful place to visit, its just a shame we got there early on a Sunday because all the small independants seemed closed. We will have to go again!

Jubilee Celebrations

Hi guys sorry I haven't been around to blog for a while, its been a busy few weeks in the shop. I often wish I had a twin who shared the same interests so they could help out ha ha!

We've been really busy arranging and planning for the Jubilee Celebrations that are fast approaching. As well as this we have been travelling all around picking up cool interesting furniture so we can reopen upstairs(it wont be long now)

Some of the stock we have coming in is really fun and a little bit different.

Looking for some quirky street party inspiration?

What we're seeing everywhere at the moment are the honeycomb decorations that are available in all sorts of sizes and colours. We have tracked them down and can say that they should be in stock soon!
perfect for the Jubilee, Weddings, childrens parties.

Keep checking the website for details. www.houseknutsford.co.uk

These decorations are great because they create such an impact when they are in a room. Display them in a group or individually either way they look stunning.
